What's Happening at the Community Centre?

COVID-19 Update-Ice Plant is Now Shut Down

Please be advised that the Stony Mountain Community Centre has made the decision to shut down the ice plant as of January 31, 2021. With the current cancellation of sports programs due to the covid 19 pandemic, with which our facility operates on that revenue, we made the decision to shut down. Please know we continue and will always make decisions regarding the Community Centre, with the best interests of our community and its members in mind. Our plan, is to open our ice, in accordance to the Public Health Act, on September 1, 2021. The SMCC board would like to thank our valued community members and customers for their continued support.

SMCC Receives Grant

We are excited to announce that we are the proud recipient of $5000 from the Farm Credit Canada (FCC) AgriSpirit Fund to help install new heating, ventilation, and a fresh air system for the Stony Mountain Community Centre. The FCC AgriSpirit Fund supports rural communities at the heart of Canadian agriculture which supports the projects that help keep these communities vibrant hubs for rural Canadians. In 2020, FCC gave $1.5 million to 92 different community groups across Canada.

Our goal is to provide the Stony Mountain area residents with a Community Centre that is functional, safe and something that the community can be proud of for years to come.
